Agnes Bolt is a Los Angeles-based artist.

She received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012 and recently attended the Mountain School in Los Angeles, Recess in New York, PACT in Essen, Germany, the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida, and Cannonball in Miami. She is a recipient of the Heinz, Fine and A W Mellon Foundation Grants.

Her most recent work has largely been in a collaborative 3 person project called the Institute for New Feeling (IfNf). As a group, IfNf's identity is always shifting. Borrowing aesthetics and language from wellness and tech industries, market research, speculative design, political propaganda, it assumes a familiar yet fragile voice of authority.

IfNf has recently shown work at The Getty Museum and Hammer Museum, LA; Ballroom Marfa, TX; MoMA and Recess, NY; Istanbul Modern, Turkey; MAAT, Lisbon; Whitechapel Gallery London; Fundacion PROA, Buenos Aires; Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart; Jardin Essential, Bruxelles; MWoods, Beijing; and Southern Exposure, San Francisco.

IfNf has been featured in Frieze, Art in America, Vogue Italy, Huffington Post, SFMoMA, Creators Project, and Hyperallergic. Agnes Bolt is also the co-founder of the curatorial project Blue Ruin and SoftCells (@soft__cells)

Bunk Bed Conversations / “The Gamble House Edition
organized by Sasha Archibald for Cabinet Magazine, as part of Machine Project's,"Field Guide to the Gamble House" residency, Los Angeles, CA
Cabinet's contribution revives our Bunk Bed Conversations-a form of intellectual theater that explores the public potential of this most private, archaic,
and companionable of American scenes-except without the bunks! Over the course of two hours, a rotation of eight guests- Mark Allen, Agnes Bolt, Ingrid Calame,
Leland de la Durantaye, Josh Kun, Mark Lipson, Brian McMullen, and Tif Sigfrids-will occupy Gamble House beds, animating the spirit of the house with
broad-ranging and quick-changing dialogue. The Greeks believed that posture and physical disposition affect the mental faculties. We'll be putting this hypothesis to the test.
